As part of Emler, SwimKids has adopted SwimSure™, a milestone-based swim lesson curriculum designed to help children build skills, confidence, and water safety at a steady, child-centered pace.

Our Story

SwimKids began with a simple belief that every child deserves to feel safe, confident, and comfortable in the water. What started as a small, family-led effort grew into a trusted swim school serving families across the community.

Today, SwimKids continues that mission with caring teachers, proven instruction, and a focus on helping children build lifelong water safety skills, one confident swimmer at a time. Now supported by the Emler Swim School family, that commitment remains stronger than ever.

Our Curriculum: Built for Safety and Confidence

SwimKids uses SwimSure™, Emler’s milestone-based swim lesson curriculum designed to help children progress safely and confidently in the water.

Skills are broken down into clear levels, allowing swimmers to build ability step by step without feeling overwhelmed. Safety is woven into every lesson, with consistent expectations, repetition, and age-appropriate instruction that meets children where they are.

Our goal is not just to teach children how to swim, but to help them feel confident, capable, and secure in and around the water.

"Jump, Turn, Swim" Method

Children practice how to enter the water safely, turn around, and grab the wall for support.

Clothesline Day

Swimmers learn how to move and float in the water while fully clothed, preparing them for real-world situations.

Boat Safety Day

Children practice floating, kicking, and balance while wearing a life jacket and learn how to signal for help.

SwimKids Swim School operates multiple locations across Northern Virginia, all designed to create a safe, comfortable, and family-friendly environment for swim lessons.

Each location features a purpose-built indoor pool designed specifically for children, with warm water and heated air to help swimmers feel comfortable and focused. Advanced water filtration helps keep the pool clean and gentle on eyes and skin.

Our facilities also include spacious family changing areas and comfortable viewing spaces where parents can watch lessons in progress. From the moment families arrive, our goal is to create an environment where children feel confident in the water and parents feel confident in their choice.
